AN IBOGAINE ODYSSEY

“Working with Jay and Rich was a smooth experience, for such a challenging project. They made my vision come to life and surprised me with the accuracy in the animation as well as the attention to detail in the messaging. They’re leading a tier one team, and I could not be more pleased with the final outcome of my project.” - Jason Sundar

When Jason Sundar reached out to R&J, he had just returned from a renowned treatment center in Mexico that uses Ibogaine to treat alcohol addiction. His experience was nothing short of transformative, with incredible and powerful visions that left a profound impact on him. In an effort to immortalize this life-changing event and share it with loved ones, Jason diligently chronicled his thoughts and emotions upon waking from his psychedelic journey.

However, turning his personal account into a compelling narrative proved to be a daunting task. With the help of our discovery process and story development, we were able to craft a concept that could only be brought to life through animation and masterful sound design. The end result was an insightful and thought-provoking visual odyssey that was a comprehensive and captivating story that effectively conveyed the depth of Jason's experience.

"The therapeutic use of psychedelics holds great promise as a means of accessing and healing emotional and psychological traumas that are often at the root of addiction and other destructive behaviors. Dr. Gabor Maté, a renowned expert on addiction, has noted, 'psychedelics offer a unique opportunity to explore the unconscious mind and gain insight into the emotional and psychological traumas that underlie addictive behaviors.'"

Michael Pollan, author of "How to Change Your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence," has commented on the use of psychedelics in treating trauma and addiction: "What we are learning from studies of psychedelics is that they can be very powerful tools in treating mental illness, especially depression, anxiety and addiction. These substances seem to have a unique capacity to help people access deep unconscious material that has been buried and might be contributing to their suffering. The goal is not to escape reality, but to help people heal and integrate the insights they gain."

This short film is not just a mere illustration of one man's story, but a philosophical meditation on the human experience, the indelible impacts of generational trauma, and the transformative power of self-reflection. Join us as we delve into the realm of the unknown and explore the depths of the human soul.
